At APF camps, our No.1 priority is putting together the best staff team for each of our camps. That means getting the balance of skills, qualifications and experience right to ensure every activity we offer can be delivered to an excellent standard!

We are always looking for seasonal staff to run camps and lead out activities. Our seasons run during Summer Holidays, Easter Holidays, October Half Term, February Half Term, May Half Term and Christmas Holidays!

Below are the roles we have on offer at each of our camps in the south-east region.






















ACTIVITY INSTRUCTOR


​The role of Activity Instructor is to ensure the welfare and safety of the children on camp is maintained at all times, and to deliver outstanding, structured and fun sessions.

Requirements:  Ideally qualified or have experience in working with children in sport, art, childcare or teaching, with significant experience of working with children (Although this is not essential).

This role would suit university students looking for extra work, parents or those interested in working with children.

  • Excellent communicator, with confident face to face customer service skills.

 • Good working knowledge of camp activities.

 • Good decision maker, able to quickly assess and make informed judgments.

 • Pro-active and conscientious, able to adapt to situations when required.


CAMP MANAGER


The Camp Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of our multi-activity holiday childcare programmes, whilst ensuring the welfare and safety of the children on Camp is maintained at all times.  You will be responsible for managing, motivating and supporting your staff team in order to create fun and exciting holiday camps which promote participation, structure, care and development. You will ensure successful execution of all policies and procedures, liaising with parents, school representatives and Head Office. As well as leading sessions, staff will contribute to the high standard of physical, emotional, and social care offered.

The position of the Camp Manager is a busy but hugely rewarding and varied role, where the experience of parents and children rests on your shoulders.

Requirements:

 • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or with significant managerial experience within the camp or childcare industry. • Ideally qualified in sport, art, childcare or teaching, with significant experience of working with children. 

• Natural leader with management experience, ideally within teaching/coaching sector.

 • Excellent communicator, with confident face to face customer service skills. 

• Good working knowledge of camp activities. 

• Good decision maker, able to quickly assess and make informed judgments.

 • Pro-active and conscientious, able to adapt to situations when required.


EARLY YEARS INSTRUCTOR


With support and direction from the Early Years Manager, you will have a pastoral role, being a key contact for the 4 and 5 year olds on camp, taking a lead in maintaining their welfare and providing high-quality care.

Ideally qualified in Early Years sport, with significant experience of working with children.  Excellent communicator, with confident face to face customer service skills.

 • Good working knowledge of camp activities.

 • Good decision maker, able to quickly assess and make informed judgments. 

• Pro-active and conscientious, able to adapt to situations when required.



EARLY YEARS MANAGER


With support and direction from the Camp Manager, you will have a pastoral role, being the key contact for the 4 and 5 year olds on camp, taking a lead in maintaining their welfare and providing high-quality care. Excellent communicator, with confident face to face customer service skills.

• Good decision maker, able to quickly assess and make informed judgments.

 • Pro-active and conscientious, able to adapt to situations when required.


LIFEGUARD


The role of Specialist Instructor (Lifeguard) is to ensure the welfare and safety of the children on camp is maintained at all times, and lifeguard at our camps during our structured swimming sessions.

SPORTS COACH

To coach and guide individuals/groups through instruction and training to improve/teach Football. Rugby, Basketball, Hockey, Badminton, Tennis, skills and knowledge. To analyse the performance and provide direction in how to improve their technique to children following set program guidelines and relevant templates. Communicate effectively and professionally to senior leaders and management on a daily basis. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships. Have or working towards a relevant degree. Alternatively, hold a variety of sports qualifications at level 1 or higher.

PERFORMING ARTS COACH AND MANAGER

Suitable for anyone looking to build a career in dance coaching, or as a dance instructor working with young people, through drama or other performing arts activities. Ideally have or working towards a related degree. Responsibilities and duties:-Able to plan an extensive performing arts programme and deliver a range of dance and performing arts activities to children following set program guidelines and relevant templates. Communicate effectively and professionally to senior leaders and management on a daily basis. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships.

COOKERY COACH

The role of Cookery Coach is to ensure the welfare and safety of the children on camp is maintained at all times, and to deliver outstanding, structured and fun cookery sessions. Communicate effectively and professionally to senior leaders and management on a daily basis. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships. Requirements:  Ideally qualified in food hygiene (or similar) with significant experience of working with children.

ROAMING STAFF


As a Roaming Staff member you will be assigned a base camp and work at a small number of camps nearby over the season. You will need to be adaptable and flexible as we may require you to travel to different camp locations last minute.
